Aircraft deliveries at record levels

Between July and September 2014, 326 aircraft delivered and the aircraft order book is the strongest it has ever been with 12,140 aircraft on order.

Overall, 2014 deliveries so far this year are 5% higher than the same period last year. These deliveries could be worth around £15.5 billion to the UK.

Paul Everitt, chief executive ADS Group, said: “For the UK, the priority is to maintain our global position and grow the 3,000 companies and 109,100 individuals that the sector comprises. Our research demonstrates that UK aerospace output is growing 10 times faster than the rest of the economy, making it a critical sector to our nation’s future prosperity. Working with government through the Aerospace Growth Partnership, Industry is accessing the support it needs to forge new partnerships, develop new technologies, explore new markets and hire new talent.”

If Apaches are sent to Iraq – which are piloted by the Army Air Corps – it would mark the first British Army involvement in a conflict role in the country.

Here’s ISIS’ Plan To Destroy American Apache Helicopters

An ISIS-made guide for downing American military helicopters briefly hit Twitter last month, before the responsible account was suspended.

A US-led coalition of western and regional players has been bombing ISIS targets for weeks in an effort to check the militant group’s lightning expansion. The American-led campaign has been almost entirely waged from the air, and the ISIS guide goes into fairly technical detail on how to shoot down enemy aircraft with a shoulder-fired man-portable air-defense system, or MANPADS.
